SV	En de mannen van Israël werden mat te dien dage; want Saul had het volk bezworen, zeggende: Vervloekt zij de man, die spijze eet tot aan den avond, opdat ik mij aan mijn vijanden wreke! Daarom proefde dat ganse volk geen spijs.
WLC	וְאִֽישׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל נִגַּ֖שׂ בַּיֹּ֣ום הַה֑וּא וַיֹּאֶל֩ שָׁא֨וּל אֶת־הָעָ֜ם לֵאמֹ֗ר אָר֣וּר הָ֠אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יֹ֨אכַל לֶ֜חֶם עַד־הָעֶ֗רֶב וְנִקַּמְתִּי֙ מֵאֹ֣יְבַ֔י וְלֹֽא טָעַ֥ם כָּל־הָעָ֖ם לָֽחֶם׃ ס
Trans.	wə’îš-yiśərā’ēl nigaś bayywōm hahû’ wayyō’el šā’ûl ’eṯ-hā‘ām lē’mōr ’ārûr hā’îš ’ăšer-yō’ḵal leḥem ‘aḏ-hā‘ereḇ wəniqqamətî mē’ōyəḇay wəlō’ ṭā‘am kāl-hā‘ām lāḥem:

AC	כד ואיש ישראל נגש ביום ההוא ויאל שאול את העם לאמר ארור האיש אשר יאכל לחם עד הערב ונקמתי מאיבי ולא טעם כל העם לחם {ס}
ASV	And the men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until it be evening, and I be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted food.
BE	And all the people were with Saul, about twenty thousand men, and the fight was general through all the hill-country of Ephraim; but Saul made a great error that day, by putting the people under an oath, saying, Let that man be cursed who takes food before evening comes and I have given punishment to those who are against me. So the people had not a taste of food.
Darby	But the men of Israel were distressed that day. Now Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth food until evening, and [until] I am avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted food.
ELB05	Die Männer von Israel waren aber sehr angestrengt an jenem Tage; und Saul beschwor das Volk und sprach: Verflucht sei der Mann, der Speise essen wird bis zum Abend, und bis ich mich an meinen Feinden gerächt habe! Und das ganze Volk kostete keine Speise.
LSG	La journée fut fatigante pour les hommes d'Israël. Saül avait fait jurer le peuple, en disant: Maudit soit l'homme qui prendra de la nourriture avant le soir, avant que je me sois vengé de mes ennemis! Et personne n'avait pris de nourriture.
Sch	Aber die Männer Israels wurden an jenem Tage überangestrengt; denn Saul beschwor alles Volk und sprach: Verflucht sei der Mann, welcher Brot ißt bis zum Abend, bis ich mich an meinen Feinden gerächt habe! Da kostete niemand im Volk eine Speise.
